Using BackDrop

If you obtain BackDrop through the Mac App Store, Apple’s Standard EULA applies unless a custom EULA is provided with the app. You may use BackDrop only as permitted by those terms and applicable law.

Your images and personal content

You remain responsible for images, calendar events, notes, reminders, email information and other content you choose to use with BackDrop. You must have the right to use that content. RUKN does not claim ownership of your selected images or personal content. Content rendered into a wallpaper may be visible to others who can see or capture your desktop.

Purchases and subscriptions

BackDrop’s features require an active monthly or annual subscription, including an eligible free trial. Billing, cancellation, restores and refunds processed through Apple are governed by Apple’s applicable App Store and Media Services terms. Apple displays the current price and billing period before purchase. Subscriptions renew according to the terms shown by Apple unless cancelled through your Apple account settings.

Eligible subscribers receive one month free when they activate a subscription. Downloading the app alone does not start the trial. The selected plan renews at the price and billing period shown by Apple after the trial unless cancelled.

When access expires, BackDrop shows subscription controls and stops wallpaper updates. The last applied wallpaper remains a static image, and saved settings are retained. Access continues during an applicable Apple billing grace period.

External information services

Weather and calendar features may depend on Apple services, AlAdhan, Hebcal or OpenHolidays, as well as your permissions, connection and selected settings. Christian calendar dates are calculated locally. Coverage and observance dates can vary by source and region. BackDrop presents this information as a desktop utility; it should not be treated as the sole source for time-critical, safety-critical, legal, or religious decisions.

Manual Awake sessions

Awake prevents idle system and display sleep during a manual session, subject to macOS behaviour, power and safety limits. It does not guarantee that work will finish uninterrupted. Closing a MacBook lid may still cause sleep.

The Privacy page explains BackDrop’s data handling and permissions. See Sources & Credits for information providers and photography. Third-party content remains subject to its applicable licence; these terms do not transfer ownership of that content.

Availability and updates

See the availability section for current distribution information. RUKN may update BackDrop to improve compatibility, reliability, security, or product behavior. Features may depend on the macOS version, hardware, connected displays, permissions, and external service availability.

Disclaimers and responsibility

BackDrop is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. RUKN is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from unavailable external data, unsupported hardware, user-selected content, or changes made outside BackDrop. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

Apple terms

Use of BackDrop through the Mac App Store is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms, including the Apple Standard EULA and Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
