Help with your BackDrop.

Open BackDrop from Applications. When it is already running, choose Open BackDrop from the menu bar item to bring the same main window forward.

Launch at Login is off by default. Open General in BackDrop and enable it to opt in. If macOS requires approval, allow BackDrop in System Settings under General and Login Items.

Apply Wallpaper requires active subscription access and an up-to-date preview. Select the intended display, choose Refresh Preview, and then apply the finished wallpaper.

Standard uses BackDrop’s fixed eight-slot layout and supports Reserved Areas. Advanced lets information blocks be dragged and scaled directly in the preview. Enable content with its Show control, then assign a slot or position it in Advanced.

Choose User Image under Background, then select or drag in an image from your Mac. The image is handled locally for the selected display.

Use the Display selector to configure up to three active displays independently. Apply Wallpaper updates the selected display. Mirrored displays are not separate layouts. If a display disconnects and returns, select it again and refresh the preview before applying.

Wallpaper edits are temporary until you choose Apply Wallpaper. Closing the window or quitting discards unapplied wallpaper changes and restores the last applied settings for each display.

Check that Show is enabled for that item in Wallpaper, and that it has a layout position. For calendar events, notes, reminders or mail, also check the selected source and its permission status. Refresh Preview after correcting the source.

Open Calendar Context and choose Islamic, Christian, Jewish or Public / Cultural. Check its source and display options. Islamic context includes Hijri dates and prayer times. Public holidays can use an Apple calendar or OpenHolidays in supported countries.

Check the status in Weather or Calendar Context. Weather needs Location access and a network connection to refresh. External calendar services also need a connection; saved data may be shown when a refresh fails. Personal events require Calendar access and a selected calendar.

Open the corresponding section in BackDrop and follow its connection controls. Notes and Mail use macOS Automation permission; Reminders uses Reminders permission. Choose the source, enable its Show control in Wallpaper, then preview and apply.

Open Awake and start a manual session. Choose a duration, an end date and time, power disconnection, or stopping manually. Active sessions prevent idle system and display sleep, subject to battery and thermal safety limits. Closing a MacBook lid may still cause sleep.

No. BackDrop arranges information within your wallpaper; it does not move or resize other apps’ windows and does not require Accessibility permission.

Eligible subscribers get one month free when they activate a monthly or annual subscription through Apple. Downloading the app alone does not start the trial. Both plans unlock every feature and renew automatically after the trial unless cancelled. Apple shows your local price and eligibility before confirmation.

Access continues until the trial or paid period ends. When access expires, BackDrop shows its subscription screen and stops wallpaper updates. Your last wallpaper stays as a static image and your saved settings remain. An applicable Apple billing grace period can temporarily preserve access after a payment failure.

Open Subscription in BackDrop and choose Restore Purchases using the Apple Account that purchased the plan. Use Manage Subscription to change or cancel your plan through Apple. Restore Purchases restores an existing valid subscription; it does not start a new trial.
