How it works
Choose it. Place it. Apply it.
Choose the information you want to see, place it where it suits you, and make it part of your wallpaper. Set up each display independently.
One clear workflow
From background to finished desktop.
Start in the Wallpaper tab. Choose the display you’re editing, then work through the background, content and layout controls. Your desktop changes when you press Apply.
- Choose a display and backgroundSelect the monitor you want to configure. Choose a built-in design, your own image or a custom colour.
- Choose what appearsUse Show to enable each content item. Configure its source in the relevant tab, and choose a Calendar Context if you want one displayed.
- Place your contentIn Standard, choose a slot for each enabled item using Layout Slots and the preview grid. In Advanced, drag and scale content in the preview.
- Set the contrastChoose Automatic, Light or Dark contrast. Adjust individual items or enable Backplate where text needs more separation.
- Review the previewCheck the image, content and placement for the selected display. Refresh Preview if needed.
- ApplyPress Apply to save the wallpaper and update the selected display. Closing the window or quitting discards unapplied wallpaper edits.
Your wallpaper content
Show what you need.
Each of the eight content items has its own Show control. Weather appears with Date & Day. When enabled, calendar context adds details beneath Month & Year and special-day labels beneath calendar dates.
Select one Calendar Context at a time: Islamic, Jewish, Christian or Public / Cultural. Islamic is the default selection. For Public / Cultural, choose an Apple calendar’s all-day events or OpenHolidays for a supported country.
Calendar
A monthly calendar, with optional coloured event dots and special days from your chosen context.
Month & Year
The month and year, with optional calendar context below. Islamic context can also show the day’s five prayer times.
Upcoming Events
Today’s events and upcoming appointments from your selected Apple calendars.
Notes
Bring content from Apple Notes onto your wallpaper.
Reminders
See selected reminders directly on your wallpaper.
A glance at your latest emails from Apple Mail.
Awake
Optional Awake status and system metrics on your desktop.
Readability
Keep the text clear.
Let BackDrop choose the contrast, or select Light or Dark yourself. Set an individual content item differently when needed, and add a backplate for extra separation.
- Choose contrast per display, with Light or Dark overrides for individual content items.
- Backplate adds fitted text backgrounds. Date & Day share one rounded background.
- Existing highlights retain their appearance when Backplate is enabled.
Standard and Advanced
Choose a slot. Or place it yourself.
Standard gives you eight positions to choose from. Advanced lets you drag content groups within the preview and scale them from 50% to 200% in 10% increments.
- Standard — Assign enabled content to slots. Hidden items leave their slots empty.
- Reserved Areas — In Standard mode, keep selected desktop regions clear of wallpaper content.
- Per display — Choose a layout independently for each of up to three active displays.
Awake has its own controls.
Awake keeps your Mac and display awake during a manual session, subject to power and safety limits. Start or stop a session in Awake. Apply Wallpaper controls the information shown on your desktop; hiding the Awake status does not stop the session.
Up to three active displays can each have their own background, visible content and wallpaper layout.
